Subtasks
- Review and assess performance of adaptation actions
- Work with colleagues across your organisation to
understand and capture outcomes of ongoing work which contribute to adaptation.
- Through reviewing implementation of adaptation
actions you should be able to learn what is suitable and what is less
appropriate for your identified climate challenges and opportunities.
- Revisit your aims, objectives and risks and how
these are being achieved by planned work.
- Use this learning to refine and strengthen
further iterations or future projects.
- Re-assess climate risks on a regular basis and
use results to inform planning and action. Reflect on collated learnings and
tailor/refine/alter/update ongoing or future adaptation actions to take account
of this. Use Task UC4A to identify
any further actions or changes to actions needed. At this stage your organisation, should be striving
for continuous improvement.
- If using an adaptation pathways approach,
reflect on how adaptive management can be incorporated.
- Ensure there is an iterative and flexible
approach to adaptation work. This will be aided by an open and supportive
organisational culture (Task OC4A), network of engaged adaptation champions (Task OC4B) and engaged governance group (Task OC4C).
- Your organisation should be capable of
experimenting with different adaptation actions and policies. Capture learnings from the implementation of
different options within a learning system.
Your organisation should have longer-term learning mechanisms in place
which embed institutional memory.
- Benchmark. Periodically complete the Benchmarking exercise to assess your organisational progress across the four capabilities.
Reflect on these results to identify areas of weakness which may need further
support.
